Holidays: Sep.1, Oct. 24&25, Nov. 11
Attendance in class is required
of all students .
The final grade: is
based on Test 1 (10%), Test 2 (15%), Test 3 (20%), Final (45%), and
Homework (10%), There are no makeup tests offered in this course.
Tests will have BONUS problems.
Homework is
assigned on Thursdays and is due in class the following Thursday. Late
Homework will not count towards the final grade.
Grading scheme: 100-90%
A; 89-75%B; 74-60% C; 59-50% D; <50% E.
Course objective: Knowing
all fundamental definitions and understanding the basic concepts of
thermodynamics. Developing ability to solve problems exemplified
by homework and tests.
The University's honesty
policy should
be familiar to all students (http://www.chem.ufl.edu/~itl.honor.html)
Students requesting
classroom accomodation must first register with the Dean of Students
Office. Documentation from the Dean's Office must be presented
by the student to the instructor.
