CHM 4412 Fall Semester 2003


 

NO CLASSES: Monday Sep. 1 (Labor Day), Friday, Nov. 7 (Homecoming); Wednesday, Nov.
11 (Veterans Day) ; Thursday-Friday, Nov. 27-28 (Thanksgiving Holiday).
ATTENDANCE:  in class on all other days is expected of all students.
THE FINAL GRADE: will be based on Test 1 (10%), Test 2 (15%), Test 3 (20%), Final (45%)
and Homework (10%).  All tests have BONUS problems.
MAKE-UP-EXAMS: There are NO make-up-exams in this class.
HOMEWORK:  A problem set will be assigned every Friday in class and is due in class the following Friday. Late homework will not count towards the final grade.
GRADING SCHEME:  A(100-90%); B(89-75%);C(74-60%);D(59-50%);E(<50%)
COURSE OBJECTIVE: Knowing all fundamental definitions and demonstrating an understanding of the basic concepts of molecular quantum mechanics as applied to atomic and molecular spectroscopy. Developing skills to solve problems as exemplified by homework and lectures.
