Brief Biography

Born in New York, NY, but raised (mostly) in a suburb of Washington, D.C. Stayed in ACC territory for undergrad at Duke where I majored in chemistry and math. I worked with Dr. Richard A. Palmer using Step-Scan Fourier Tranform Infrared Spectroscopy to study excited states of a group of copper(I) compounds, though none of the work has been published yet. I spent a productive summer writing computer code at the National Cancer Institute for an Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Imaging project under Dr. Murali Krishna and other scientists there (see more on my publications page). After spending a summer working for Dr. Bartlett on an REU, I decided that electronic structure theory was where it was at, and I started here at the University of Florida in his group in August of 2003.
